Paco Rabanne
The remarkable story of Paco Rabanne began more than fifty years ago, in 1966, by the Spanish-born Francisco “Paco” Rabaden Cuervo. Paco Rabanne flourished in Paris, establishing himself as an innovative designer and was the first to use a soundtrack during a fashion show. It was, however, his use of materials such as metal and plastic in garments – a novelty at the time – that marked his rise to fame. The designer became the jewellery maker for brands such as Dior, Givenchy and Balenciaga, but left the brand at the end of the ‘90s. Countless designers followed in his steps until in 2013 Julien Dossena arrived in the frame. Immediately praised by the industry, Dossena continues to succeed in adding a new story to a brand that comes from a rich, colourful past.
